Game Overview
Excitement levels officially shot through the roof last week, when we received from Mr Delivery Man a nice black Playseat ready for us to assemble and get racing!
How glorious it looked, pulling the seat from its box along with the frame and setting it down on the ground before flicking through the instructions on setting the thing up! Must say at this point that if you are thinking about investing in one of these Playseats, don't bother reading the instructions, its fairly simple to put together and the instructions just seemed to confuse it more than necessary.
The framework to the Playseat is incredibly sturdy, very well built and looks really good. After doing some research on the seats it would appear the new "Evolution" series are the popular models and the steering column comes up between your legs, we seriously though this was going to be a problem at first and wondered why they would bother changing it from the original frame where the steering column ran parallel to your legs, but in all honesty once you get in the seat you don't notice the steering column at all, there is plenty of room to move about and it doesn't get in the way at all.
The footplate for the accelerator pedals seems a little strange in the way it holds the pedals to the frame, we were expecting screws but instead a small metal lip folds over the top of the pedals, unfortunately it doesn't really hold our Official Xbox Pedals in place like you would expect and they do move about a little bit but nothing more than an inch here and there.
The seat itself looks awesome, they come in lots of different varieties and colours, Black and White being the two main colours but you can also get A1 sponsored seats which really do look the part. The standard Evolution seat we were sent was pucker though and we still can't get enough of it, comfortable, hugs your body and the unit adjusts to fit even the biggest people in. If you find yourself a little bit too small and can't reach the pedals then TGrav sell a very nifty bit of equipment that you attach to the bottom of the seat which allows you to slide the seat backwards and forwards just like you were in a proper car. Unfortunately we haven't tested this out so don't know if it is worth getting but from what we have seen on the TGrav website it looks like it could do the job for the slightly smaller or bigger people.
Where most people fail, Playseat boasts! All you need to do is run a quick Google search and you'll find a whole host of people who have put blood sweat and tears into trying to create their very own racing seat to accommodate their steering wheel and pedals for DiRT or Forza, the fact of the matter is, no matter how much effort you put in trying to make your own seat, it just won't be anywhere near as good as the Playseat. Whilst all those people go out there banging nails and screws into wood, you can log on to TGrav, buy the seat, have it delivered and get playing, then laugh at the people who have just hit their finger with a hammer for the twentieth time.

Our Conclusions
All in all, probably the best accessory we have come across in the gaming world, comfort is at the forefront and you really could spend hours and hours sitting in the seat without any aches or pains. The Playseat adds a completely different dimension to driving games and although the price may put some people off it is a must have for all driving sim fanatics! And we highly recommend them!
Overall Score: 10/10
