Game Overview
Obviously available on the Wii and a massive hit on the Wii to boot there wouldn't be much point in picking up both versions of the game if you ask us.
It's not great but it's not a let down due to the fact that you always feel like you are playing the little brother of the proper game, on the Wii. The Wii version will always be remembered for the party antics you experience with your mates in the living room whilst you attempt to run the 100m using the Wii remotes, unfortunately though the DS, although it has a unique control system, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games just doesn't work right, the whole time you are playing it it just spurs you on to want to play it on the Wii.
The game looks good though and the graphics are pretty nifty almost as good as those of the Wii which, if you have played the Wii version you'll know are pretty good.
None of the events really stand out, but having said that none of the events really stood out on the Wii version, they were all a lot more enjoyable to play though because of the controls. Apart from the extra couple of events exclusive to the DS (10m Platform Dive and Cycling), the control system and the fact that it is clearly not as good, it is virtually the same game as the Wii version. All your favorite Nintendo and Sonic characters are there to select but unfortunately you aren't able to compete over Wi-Fi which we must admit is a massive disappointment, you can upload your fastest times and highest scores but no one really cares about doing that anymore.

Our Conclusions
It's much of the same really, just not as good. There isn't really a great deal to say about it. The controls let the game down and therefore make it a lot less enjoyable than its counterpart, if you want to pick one of them up steer well clear of the DS version as you'll be bored in half an hour, opt for the Wii.
Overall Score: 5/10
