Game Overview
The idea of Big Brain Academy is to train your brain and make yourself that much brighter although at times we aren't sure if the idea is to make you more intelligent or to make you quicker at using a Wii remote as you'll score more points the quicker you answer.
This is our first gripe, games don't appear to be all that brain taxing in all fairness, we were really hoping for some kind of IQ test or something to really make you think but instead were given a race against the clock "how many balls were thrown into the basket" or "which is the odd one out", none of the "mini games" appear to really be all that difficult and we only found ourselves slipping up when we mistakenly pushed 'A' and you are rewarded for being quick rather than clever, good for some people but others who aren't necessarily used to how the Wii/DS works will be made to look quite stupid.
The one thing Nintendo have maintained throughout the years is the fact that they can make virtually anything enjoyable, recent releases back this up such as Trauma Centre and who would have though walking a few Nintendo characters around a board game would be enjoyable but Mario Party has really set the world alight. The trend definitely doesn't stop here with Big Brain Academy, although we feel this one may be geared a little bit more towards kids.
You are able to compare scores with other people who have played the game on your console and you can even check scores of people on your friends list as well which is a nice touch but you will need the other person to send their details over to you which isn't that great unfortunately.

Our Conclusions
Single player mode, we reckon, will last the average gamer all of an hour, before they become bored stiff and put Mario Strikers back in, multiplayer on the other hand whether it be with the kids or your mates or even your parents is a right laugh and with the RRP being so low on Big Brain Academy it is definitely good entertainment for a night in but you'll probably need to couple it up with something else!
Overall Score: 6/10
Thanks to Nintendo and all involved with making Big Brain Academy.
