Game Overview
Boogie is the first Karaoke style game to be released on the Wii and we are sure it will be the first of many, due to the unique way of which the Wii works. Boogie isn't going to appeal to many people out there who want to "game", those people will be more into their Paper Mario and Mario Galaxy however for those of you who are looking for something to put in the Wii and have a real laugh with some mates, then Boogie might just be your game!

Unlike many other karaoke style games, Boogie allows you to dance as well as sing. You'll take control of your very own character, select a song and stage and then attempt (usually attempt is a bit ambitious) to dance to the beat of the music. For us though the dancing was incredibly short lived and a little tedious, admittedly we were terrible at it but it did get very repetitive and topped off by the chance to cut a video of your moves at the end which was pretty pointless. OK, so you can add different light effects and have images floating around the place but there really is no point to it, you can save them and watch them back but really, who wants to do that? It would have been better if you could upload them for people to watch but even then we think we'd struggle to be excited about it.

For us, the fun in Boogie is with the singing, just head straight into Karaoke and sing along to Simply Red, Jackson 5, Culture Club and the legend that is Lou Bega (Mambo No. 5). Scrolling through the list of songs we have to be honest isn't all that enthralling there isn't a great selection of songs that you might expect, some dodgy numbers in there such as Baila Me by the Gypsy Kings and Fergalicious by Fergi which for us don't really ring true to the "Party" style of the other songs. Hopefully there will be some downloadable content at some point but until then you'll have to put up with your Dad wanting to sing Celebration by Kool and the Gang.

Our Conclusions
It's bright, colorful and can be a really good laugh but you HAVE to play with mates to make it worthwhile playing, then you have to persuade your mates to sing which as we found out isn't as easy as you may think. There just isn't enough life in Boogie for us, it's worth having as back-up for a party but other than that you'll struggle to put it back in the Wii once you have played it a couple of times and sung all the songs.
