Game Overview
We are big fans of Scuba Diving however a 40 minute trial dive in Tobago a couple of years ago from our King of Games is about the expanse of our diving knowledge, but for us, it is enough to know most of the ins and outs, do's and don’ts. Therefore when we take to the depths of Endless Oceans expansive ocean coverage in search for sea life we feel at home......almost......ok, not at all but it makes us sound like we know what we are talking about.

In all seriousness, we do have snorkeling trips and a scuba dive under our belts so we knew what to expect one of us also owns a Marine fish tank so we also have some form of fish knowledge! Considering Endless Ocean's graphics leave a lot to be desired you do get a fairly good idea as to what it's like to go Scuba Diving, loads of different types of marine tropical fish including Clowns, Damsels, Parrot Fish, Rays etc.

It is a very relaxing and time wasting game that can quite easily see a few hours disappear in each sitting without you really thinking about it too much. The concept of diving to research fish may sound boring to the majority of you guys but give it a go and try to not get hooked (no pun intended). It's almost impossible, Endless Ocean has such a relaxing feel to the game and along with the "collecting" of different fish data being quite addictive you'll soon find yourself wanting more diving action as you scour different areas.

Wii Connect24 allows you to pair up with a mate and go diving together in a search for more fish and sea life which is a real nice touch, the problem we had was persuading a mate to buy the game as to be honest, if you judge a book by it's cover (or in this case a game) like a lot of people do then you are just going to stick Endless Ocean back on the shelf, so don't expect to get much life out of the online mode.

Throughout the game you'll return to your boat which is more like a menu system, advancing you on to new dives, taking out clients on guided tours, looking at your research book and at all the fish you have seen in your journey's, changing equipment and the look of your character etc. Attracting some extra wildlife like Penguins and Birds of all shapes and sizes for you to research and add to the book. Then you have a Marine biologist on board who goes by the name of Catherine who only seems to be there to point you in the right direction and move the game along. At times you'll struggle to know what you are required to do, a quick trip to Catherine usually sorts that problem.

Our Conclusions
We can't remember the last time a game was released that had a "Check out the scenery" option on the deck of a rather expensive yacht, but this does, all you do is sit there and look at the scenery! in a video game! No frags or gunfire, no epic battles or screeching tires, it's a relaxing, quiet game that doesn't ask you to do anything in a time limit or kill anything. Some may think it is boring, but we urge those people to try this out as it is weirdly addictive. It's nothing amazing but if you can pick it up on the cheap it is definitely worth a punt!
