Game Overview
Ghost Squad looks and plays and sounds and does virtually everything the same as the arcade classic Time Crisis, so for those of you who have spent hundreds and hundreds of pounds playing in the arcade, pick yourself up a copy of Ghost Squad as it should curb the cravings.
That being said, it certainly is no Time Crisis. Graphically it falls just short but in a game that is fairly fast paced you won't worry too much about the graphics as long as you can tell who you need to shoot and when.
Missions will see you saving hostages, defusing bombs, shooting down choppers, clearing areas and killing character after character all who look identical to each other and very generic. There isn't a great deal of inspiration involved with Ghost Squad and it strikes you as the kind of game that probably could have been released 5 or 6 years ago.
Using the Wii remote took away a lot of the fun for us, you are able to buy the Zapper accessory, we haven't used it yet but getting hold of one of them will make the game a little more enjoyable along with a big TV, playing on a small TV is pretty much pointless. You need to replicate an arcade as much as possible, big screen and some guns would be pucker! We doubt they will release the legendary Blue and Pink guns for a game that retails at £24.99 but if there are more titles similar to Ghost Squad released in the future then it would be great to get a couple of guns with recoil on them.
You are able to select single shot, burst or constant fire on your weapon, which never, ever, runs out of ammo, it just keeps going and going. However you are required to reload by pointing your Wii remote off screen. Ghost Squad keeps you open to the pummeling at all times which is a bit of a shame, whereas with Time Crisis you could hide behind objects to stop yourself from taking a rocket in the face with Ghost Squad there is nothing of the sort, you are completely unable to hide, luckily the gameplay is actually very easy and anyone who has dabbled in the world of Time Crisis will finish Ghost Squad in their first sitting.

Our Conclusions
If you have played any of the Time Crisis before you'll get the hang of Ghost Squad straight away. It's not complicated, straight forward, simple, easy gameplay and generally quite good fun with plenty of replay ability IF you have a mate to play along with. Single player does get a little boring after a while. Great attempt, and just about worth the price tag.
Overall Score: 6.5/10
