Game Overview
We, as you can probably imagine, like the odd drink or two....or three, so we do partake in the odd game of darts once in a while whilst the beers are flowing and the banter is reduced to cringe worthy comments that no one laughs at. Darts seems to give you something to laugh at, some ammo to rip into your mate as a dart he has just launched, pings off the metal trim and lands at his feet.
For the first time in a long time PDC World Championship Darts has actually made us sit up and think, "What's the point" surely it is just as easy, and in some cases cheaper to buy a dart board, it will require a lot more skill and we think a lot more enjoyable. Does this game just make the youth of today a lot lazier than they already are?
That to one side, the game isn't actually all that bad but the simplicity to it all means that the game is actually quite easy, it didn't take us long to get a 9 dart finish and beat the best in the world. You hold the remote like a dart, push down and hold A once you have lined up your shot and then throw much like you would a dart (obviously). It won't take you long to master the art of thrown the remote straight and get the required power. There does seem to be a lot of room for error which meant that 180's were flowing freely. The good thing is that the AI isn't stupid and does tend to hit 180's on a regular basis as well so you will find yourself losing the odd game or two after taking it straight to the wire
If you were wondering about the commentary, we can confirm that Sid Waddell is present however the commentary is a little tedious and boring along with the lack of atmosphere you never feel lost in the game and always feel like you are in your gaming room throwing a remote at your TV.
The characters look good and represent their real life counterparts down to a T, but the crowd looks weak and the arena's look plain and lifeless which really don't do the already shoddy atmosphere, any favours at all.

Our Conclusions
With a few beers inside you the game would be a lot more enjoyable and quite a lot harder. We can understand Football Games and NFL and FPS games but surely it isn't that hard to get hold of a dart board and play for real. OK, so you aren't playing at Lakeside against the worlds greatest players but the real game is a lot harder and if you practiced for real then maybe one day you'll get to Lakeside!
Overall Score: 6/10
