Game Overview
To cut the description of the game short, The Movies is a simulation that is similar games such as The Sims or the Tycoon series, but takes that particular level of gaming to an all new height, a completely different dimension, creating a deep game that challenges creativity while providing a whole lot of fun.
The main objective of this game is to make movies and gradually work your way through the game, building your own sets, hiring your own actors, props, behind the screen staff, scripts, nothing is left untouched and you do have to think about everything, even trying to stay within your budget! You wouldn't want half a film now would you!
You start in the 1920's were lets face it, films were pretty shoddy and the acting was about as interesting as watching paint dry! Unfortunately it's the same in game, so it does give the game a bit of a slow start but as the years tick on and technology advances so do the Movies you are able to create, then it starts getting a little bit more..........colourful!
Talking of advancements, The Movies enables players to record their own voices and movie soundtracks to really get you involved in the game, now you have to admit that is quite impressive! So you knock up your own script, do the voiceovers, set the music for the scene, everything in the movie is your work!
Once you have spent your time knocking up your own film and you think that Steven Spielberg has nothing on you then you can save your movies to your hard drive and email them into the official Movies website where other gamers can go along and view them.

Our Conclusions
The Movies will appeal to people of all ages, this is your chance to prove to yourself that you can be a movie maker, ok so your movie wont be a box office hit that brings in millions but it's still good fun to do! Unfortunately you can very quickly become a very unsociable person with this game as it is so addictive but it is definitely worth playing!
Overall Score: 9/10
Thanks to Activision.
