Aliens vs. Predator Requiem by Sierra
Available on PSP only

Based on the second blockbuster film from 20th Century Fox opening December, 2007, Aliens vs. Predator, is an all-new third-person action game exclusively designed for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system from the creators of the award-winning original Aliens vs. Predator for PC.

Game Overview
It's not often we are sent through PSP games to review, we don't know why to be honest, it just hasn't been something that has been requested or we have bothered to chase up. Aliens vs. Predator, to our surprise, turned up in our pigeon hole and it seemed like a good excuse to dust off the PSP and fire it up!

Unfortunately it didn't take us long to realise that maybe the PSP was best left untouched and Aliens vs. Predator was left alone. That's not to say it is the worst game we have ever played but it really isn't great to be fair, in a nutshell, it's bland!

No voices, no movies intro's, all text based, short lifespan, graphics are uninspiring that won't have you appreciating what the PSP is capable of. The gameplay is very repetitive and requires you to do the same thing level after level for 15 levels. We really are struggling to find anything worth mentioning about Aliens vs. Predator. It just didn't do much for us at all and must have been in the top 5 for the quickest time it took to be banished to the gaming shelf. The one thing it has done for us though is remind us that the PSP still exists, with all the top games out on consoles at the moment like Mario Galaxy, Assassins Creed, Guitar Hero 3 and Call of Duty 4 it's easy to forget the PSP, but thanks to Aliens Vs. Predator it has reminded us of the great games there has been on the PSP and inspired us to dig them all out again! Not really the effect you want from a game though.

Our Conclusions
We'd like to refer to Aliens vs. Predator as a non descript game, it's neither here nor there. It's playable, and the Predators look okay but there is nothing at all to shout about. Gameplay is weak, game design is even weaker, you'll switch off in between killing sprees and loose track of what's going on as the game just doesn't keep you interested. If running around repetitively killing aliens in very dark levels is your thang then make sure you get a copy, you'll probably love it, for everyone else look elsewhere for some entertainment.

Overall Score: 4.5/10

Thanks to Sierra
