Game Overview
Football Manager Handheld is obviously no where near as good as its big brother on the PC, you can't even compare the two, handheld only has a handful of leagues, the player database is miniature and the options throughout the game are very limited. You aren't able to be specific with tactics, you can't exchange players with other clubs and the match screen has half the options that you are used to on the PC not even a live league table or latest scores! Unfortunately this does make it a little annoying when you are gunning for the title and its all down to goal difference etc.
Although the options through football manager are very limited you still get that unique feeling when playing the game, not only does it get rid of those nasty withdrawal symptoms but it goes beyond that, it rejuvenates your passion for Football Manager, this is partly due to the game being quite easy, as you romp towards European glory you can't help but think, "when I get home im playing the PC version" FM Handheld makes you think that you can conquer its big brother as easily as you have with handheld but we can assure you, that is not the case!
Flying to Egypt was a 5 hour flight in a cramped, uncomfortable over filled plane, the only way you would have been comfortable on that flight was if you were 2 years old or if you were a dwarf! However, Football Manager Handheld was the ultimate answer, the pain and discomfort was put to the back for your mind for the whole 5 hours as you are roped into it's addictive gameplay occasionally looking up to check out the hot air hostess! 5 hours flew by and before I knew it we were flying over the Pyramids and having to buckle up for landing! Jackpot!
A big problem which Sony are going to need to address sooner rather than later is the glare factor, no matter how hard we tried it is not possible to play any game on the PSP outside, you cannot see a single thing, even with Football Manager being a slow paced game it still got very annoying trying to see the screen and led us to switching it off and going to the swim up bar, not a bad compromise if you ask us!

Our Conclusions
Although the handheld version is not as involved as other versions of the game, it is that little hit you need when you aren't able to get to your PC for a full on 24 hour session! The gameplay is still very addictive and is a must for all FM fans, we now have no reason to decline holidays anymore! the best of both worlds! And by the way Egypt was a bit boring but very hot!
Overall Score: 8/10
