Game Overview
The FIFA Street series have always interested us and is a game that we have always enjoyed playing even though it has been slated in many reviews around the world. That’s not to say it is a good game but there is something about it that really appeals to us, who doesn't like a bit of showboating. The fact that EA have bothered bringing out a third in the series means that we can't be the only people in the world who enjoy playing FIFA Street.
The new addition to the series is a little different to previous titles; this time around they have opted for a very weird look to the players. Apparently they are supposed to emulate Super Heroes with oversized muscles and for some obscure reason caricature-like faces. It's a weird concept and at first we hated it however as time wore on and we were getting to grips with the game the graphics, in particular the players, started to grow on us and now we really like them although Peter Crouch looks extremely giant like and some players i.e. Micah Richards look really fat which obviously he isn't!
Gameplay has followed continued on from previous titles, ball juggle and freestyle with the ball to stand more of a chance of scoring, the more showboating you do the more your Gamebreaker bar fills, activate the gamebreaker and your plays become experts in all departments making your team virtually unstoppable meaning it will start raining goals! Progress through different "challenges" which get a little repetitive (score 5 goals, 5 minute limit, score 3 gamebreaker goals etc), ultimately playing against the CPU is pretty boring as you can't have any banter with it, playing against someone online or with a mate is the real way to go.
Online though definitely has its down point and something that quite frankly is one of the most annoying things you'll ever come across in any game! Tacky gamers! You remember back in the day with Chun Li on Street Fighter you could just do her Hyper Kick over and over and never really lose or Honda's hand slap, well with FIFA Street the equivalent is bull juggling. We enjoy passing the ball about, skinning a player with a wall walk or a Cruyff Turn but online hardly anyone does that, they'll pick the ball up, ball juggle (which requires no skill what so ever) and then bury it in the back of the net. Quite repetitive and highly annoying!
The addition of Playground Picks is without a doubt our favorite feature to the game, the name speaks for itself. Choose a team and all the players will line up in the playground, you then take it in turns with your buddy to pick a player, that is then your team! Its great fun doing and watching the last player picked throw a hissy fit gives you a chuckle at the same time. Playground picks is a great addition to a game which to be fair is quite average.
For those of you who are addicted to increasing your Xbox Gamerscore then make sure you get your hands on this, you'll easily have 6-800 points within a few hours gaming! RESULT!

Our Conclusions
It still appeals to us, we don't know why, maybe because it's a game that you can't take too seriously and can just pick up and play if you want to waste half an hour. It's entertaining against mates but online just makes you wanna scream as you take on a spotty 15 year old for the hundredth time who persists on ball juggling everywhere! A little repetitive at times and single player really doesn't cut it all that well, just hope you have some mates who are willing to spend some time with you. Probably not worth the RRP but a bargain if you can find it for £25 otherwise just hire it for a couple of days.
Overall Score: 6.5/10
