Game Overview
If you look back through our reviews you will very rarely see us say something like "Just go and buy it, don't bother reading reviews about it, don't even think about not buying it, just go out and spend your hard earned cash on one of the greatest games ever!" Well we just said it and in our honest opinion there isn't a game of the tactical combat genre that even comes close to how good Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is! Actually we can't think of a game full stop that even comes close! FACT! Unless of course your reading this when Xbox 360 is regarded as Old Skool!
From the start FMV sequence you can instantly see that Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is a simply amazing game, you don't even have to have touched the controller to realise this. What you are about to witness is something so beautiful and ground breaking that you may let a little bit of wee out in excitement!
We have to start with the graphics, if you have seen movie sequences of the game or maybe even played the Demo you will know why we are starting with them, they are simply amazing! Never before have we seen such attention to detail in everything from the barrel you blow up at the side of the road to the buildings in the street that have militia spraying bullets down on you from the rooftop. They are simply gorgeous, explosions are amazing, we are for once lost for words on how good these graphics are, they do take a bit of a dive in the multiplayer but that’s expected as there is so much going on!
The gameplay to Ghost recon Advanced Warfighter is something to be marveled at, it definitely isn't a walk in the park on a Sunday afternoon with the sun beating! It will keep you on your toes, cautious, anxious, nervous, excited and sometimes a little frustrated! There is no "Easy" mode setting here for the little kiddies, this is a proper game with some fierce gameplay, you have a choice of Normal or Hard, considering it took us about an hour to finish the first level on normal we would hate to see what Hard is like! Not for the feint of heart but even though the game is quite tricky, and does require you to be quite tactical, for some reason you just don't get sick and tired of trying and trying. The key is to take cover and bide your time, we suppose just like real life! To be honest, you aren't going to get any closer to the real thing unless of course you are in the TA!
We have one downfall to GRAW, it's nothing major though, it would have been good to have a bit more control over your team of Ghosts, you are able to send them on ahead to check areas out and give the all clear and you are able to call them back to your location however it would have been nice to see the inclusion of being able to split the team up and send them off to different locations so you are able to attack bad guys from all different angles. However, this doesn't really effect anything at all as sometimes it's good to have your team around you so the buggers shooting at you have multiple targets because if you die it's game over, if your team mates go down they can be revived.
Multiplayer really spices things up with the inclusion of 16 player support, all out brawl or how about some objective based missions with all 16 of you taking part! Get your 360 hooked up online and start making some friends as well as some enemies!
It is extremely hard to fault this game at all, even the sound effects are completely spot on, gunfire sounds incredible the sound of Mexicans in the street baring down on your position really build up the suspense and to add to that the sound of a crying baby whilst you are walking through the deserted streets really gives you a sense of how serious these situations are and sends a nasty chill all over you. The sound effects really help entice you to really get involved in the game and once you are dragged in, trust us, you wont get out!

Our Conclusions
Faultless, just us being picky! You can't make a game to suit everyone’s wants and needs. GRAW is simply amazing, if you haven't got a 360 yet then GRAW should be your reason for going out and getting one, by far the best 360 game to date! Well done Ubisoft, the first Console game to be awarded a BlokesOnly 10/10!
Overall Score: 10/10
Massive thanks to Ubisoft, what a game!
