Game Overview
The opening sequence to the game starts of with the typical Rockstar yellow text on a black background, which instantly reminds you of Grand Theft Auto, then instead of being greeted with gunfire or blue language, a ping pong ball bounces in front of you which initially is a bit of a let down but then as soon as the movie sequence gets under way it becomes clear that Rockstar aren't just ‘avin a laugh'!
You will be amazed by the level of detail that appears in front of you throughout Rockstars Table Tennis, the characters, the bats, balls, tables and general surroundings look absolutely superb! HD TV's are a must have with this game to really appreciate how well defined Table Tennis is. The glimmer in Lui Pings eyes, the wear and tear on the bat, it really does make you appreciate how far gaming has come over the years!
The gameplay itself is admittedly a little bit boring, especially if you are completely useless at the game. Table Tennis isn't really a game that you should hurry out to buy if you want a single player game, the tournament modes do tend to drag on a bit and as we explain later the difficulty towards the end of them jumps up a considerate amount. The real fun comes when you jump online and play against people all over the world whilst being able to chat to them at the same time, it really adds a lot more excitement to Table Tennis and as every game you play online is different the game has quite a good lifespan, or if you don't happen to have a Live membership it can be just as much fun and even more competative with your mates round and playing one on one!
The offline multiplayer has plenty of pro's and as far as we could work out only one con! The main advantage is that ramming a ping pong ball down your mates throat (in the game, not in real life people) and making him look stupid infront of everyone is great fun, Table Tennis is such a prime example of a pick up and play game that anyone, and we mean anyone, can play it! Which means more ass whooping for you to dish out being the "expert" at the game. The down side to it is that when you aren't serving you have to play at the top end of the table which for us knocked our left, right, up and down senses all over the place, although we're sure thats just us being idiots!
The achievements available aren't all that easy to get hold of so even on the single player modes don't expect a walk in the park. As we mentioned briefly earlier, the game difficulty varies quite a bit depending on your style of play and who you are playing against, you can cruise through the first round or two in a single player tournament then really struggle in the Semi Final, eventually get to the final and completely walk it. It did seem to take an almighty leap in the difficulty side of things at times, which isn't to much of a problem as we all like a challenge once in a while, but it does get to the stage where you will be throwing a strop through frustration because you are unable to beat Juergen! Get online and you will be struggling in every match! Is that a vein we see popping out of your neck?

Our Conclusions
It's the first 360 game to come out which doesn't require you to re-mortgage your house to buy! We have found it online for as little as £24.99 and at that price any game is worth getting, its a cracking game but to experience it's very addictive gameplay you have to play multiplayer be it on or offline.
Overall Score: 8/10
